F.A.Q
Q: Why is the comic called "The Killing Moon"?
A: When I first started the comic it was going to be very music oriented. It was going to have chapters named after various songs, but after awhile I decided to scrap the chapters idea. Plus Syd is a wolf, and I associated her with, well, the moon.
Q: Is there going to be any actually "killing" in the comic?
A: While I considered killing off characters a few times, I decided that it was just a cheap way to get rid of characters I don't like. There may or may not be a death or two in the future, but as of now, no one is going to die.

Q: Can you make up a character for me/draw me/put me in the comic?
a: No. I've been asked this question way too many times and it's a pain to make new characters for people and try to put them into the comic while still continuing the story. A lot of the characters IN the comic are there because people asked me that (Zane, Trent, Dolly, Sunny, Lucy, Tilly) and while I was able to fit them into the comic story, it's still a pain to try to fit a ton of people in. That's also why I quickly get rid of some characters, it's just too hard to continue the story with 12 characters running around. So no.
Q: Will you draw something for me?
A: Maybe. If you're willing to part with some money, then yes, I'll draw something for you, but I'm a busy person and have my own art and own things to work on, so doing free commissions for people isn't something that I'm going to be doing anytime soon unless you're a good friend, in which case I'll just do giftart for you. Short answer: if you're willing to pay, yes. If not, no.
Q: Who are your characters supposed to be? And are they really like the people they're supposed to be?
A: Honestly, I don't feel comfortable posting who they're supposed to be on the site mainly because, no, the characters generally aren't like who they're supposed to be and I'm afraid if one of them stumbles on this and discovers they're a certain character and I portray them badly, they may get upset. For example, Lucy was originally supposed to be a certain friend of mine who I got into a fight with, so I wrote her into the comic as a bitch, but she's really not that horrible. Also, I'm supposed to be Syd, but I've been told I'm nothing like her, so yeah. Unless you want to talk to me on AIM or through email, I can't help you there.
Q: Will you ever actually put anything on [part of site]?
A: As much as I'd like to post links or merchendise or art, figuring out things I want to post, then going through all the html and various other steps it takes to put all that stuff up, I end up forgetting. Like right now I have the ability to make some stickers and teeshirts, but since no one's ever contacted me about them and I don't have time to make new designs for them, I haven't put anything up. So eventually most of the pages on the site should actually have something on them once I figure out how I want to go about doing them, but until I have vast amounts of free time and people that actually email me about merchendise, they'll generally remain blank.
Q:How did you learn to draw?
A: Honestly...I don't know. I've been drawing since I can remember (about four) and have been developing it since then. I guess just...learning off other artists and lots and lots of how to draw books. And years and years of practice.
Q:How long does it take to finish a strip?
A: Well...it depends. The color strips generally took about....2-4 hours or more including color. Current strips take anywhere from half an hour to an hour depending on how focused I am on the strip or what else I'm doing at the time.
Q: What do you use to make TKM?
A: Lots of stuff. I made a template awhile back on photoshop which I print out on regular printer paper, I then draw general guidelines with a non-photo blue pencil (a blue pencil that doesn't show up when something is scanned). I then go over that with more detail in regular pencil and then ink over that with various sizes of micron pens (.5 for word bubbles, .3 for charactesr, .1 for character details and sometimes backgrounds). I then scan that in and add text with photoshop. Woo.
Q: What are your plans for the furture of TKM?
A: Right now...several things. I've finished the first part of TKM and it's predicted to end around April or May of 2006. In June/July, real me is making a move to the east coast, so all summer I believe I'll be taking a break. During that time I'm most likely going to make arrangements to publish part one as well as a sort of journal comic between part one and part two that will only be released with the book of part one (I'm cheap that way). Part two will most likely start once I get settled in my dorm and figure out how much free time I'll have. I'm not sure how well this will work since I really don't know how busy my workload will be for school and I don't even know if I'll have a job while I'm there or not, but we'll see since I'd really like to continue the story after part one.
Q: Why did you decide to make TKM?
A: Well...first I started making a comic surrounding the activities of a friend and I because, well, we tended to do really weird things togehter, and after drawing a whole bunch I decided it'd be a waste to NOT post them. So I started this and after a few months I decided to make it fictional rather than...true things because, well, where the story went it would have been bad had said friend found the comic since it was some personal stuff, so I decided to make up the rest of the story. It's much easier to make things turn out the way I want that way.
Q: Have you drawn any other comics?
A: Sadly, yes. A VERY long time ago I had a comic called Life of Geek and it was just really random, VERY badly drawn, and full of jokes people outside of my circle of friends wouldn't understand. It was really two separate comics since I started the first part in about 7th grade, then stopped and started it again on another webhost, with different characters and a different art style in 9th grade. Then that bombed and a few years and anatomy lessons later, TKM started. I think the second branch of Life of Geek can still be found somewhere, but I'm not sure if any of the images work.
